I've Been Babysetting
( 70,000 baby chicks), while my Daughter-in-law is on vacation & my Son works another job.
For those of you who don't know how these broiler operations work, feed is trucked in & piped into bins, then carried inside the houses in pipes with augers, then along more pipes to feeders, & water is dispensed throughout the houses through pipes, & the chicks reach up & drink from little nipples on the pipes.
Everything is ran by computers, water drips through 'cool cells', then large fans suck the air through the houses cooling them & keeping the hot summer days bearable.
All the little guys have to do is eat & drink & sleep, but when they get big enough 'vacation is over'.
