Was cruising around the streets today after an awesome day of fun and adventure when fate decided to give me a ton of money just for the heck of it! In a dumpster in front of an old house being sold I found two big cases of sealed Polaroid 600 film! I can't even begin to explain how expensive and desirable original/obsolete Polaroid 600 film is! Finding this film is literally impossible and artists are willing to pay a fortune for it! I expect to sell each 20 count blue box on ebay for between $30-$35 each (ebay trends $35 each) and every 10 Count white box for $15-$17 each (Ebay trends $17.99 each)! There are 73 white boxes and 30 blue boxes - that's $2,300 in film! See, not all treasure is silver and gold!

Just to prove to you all this find's insane value here is a link to an auction currently on ebay for a single 10 pack of Polaroid 600 film, the pack expired 11 years ago and yet people are still willing to pay a great deal of money for it: Polaroid 600 Color Instant Film ISO 640 10 Exposures Expired 12 2004 074100066020 | eBay

The 20-Pack Blue Boxes ($35 each):

The 10-pack White boxes ($17 each), (first pic as I dug them out of dumpster [AKA the urban treasure chest]), second pic is them all arranged "nicely":

One of the many other neat things I found tonight:

I found other amazing things tonight too but no time to post all the pics right now, will post later though. Finds included 2 immaculate condition Wolverine Metal doll houses, original Jurassic Park toys, York weights and barbells, amazing history books (even one about lost civilizations and lost treasure I s#14 you not), and a whole bunch of other neat things, can't wait for tomorrow! :tongue3:

that's pretty neat, way to go, good luck selling all that on ebay!

I think that is great!

I was self conscious the first several times while metal detecting lol. Don't think I could ever dumpster dive! Congrats on your score and for just having the guts to do it lol!

WTG Underminer thats just awesome...:occasion14:

Nice find. A friend of mine is a successful dumpster diver. Just make sure the film is good. From personal experience it goes bad with time or heat.

Another man's trash is another man's treasure. Nice save!

Holy :censored:!!! 2 grand just tossed away. Amazes me how people can just throw out something without even considering to check its worth first. Awesome save for sure.

Great find! I buy that film whenever I find it. I go to many estate sales and garage sales and have sold many throughout the years. Always a good seller.
btw- there is a company that makes it now but it's like $23.50 for an 8 photo pack.

Heh underminer...

I picture you like this... :P

You should go back after selling them and share some of the $$$ with the owners. :laughing7:

Good score once again.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :occasion14:

Underminer, Way to go man! Don't underestimate the value on the Wolverine doll houses, if in nice condition, collectors will spring for those a pretty penny! They are 50's-60's-early 70's! Sub 8-)

There are few physical or psychological obstacles that can keep me away from treasure. When I think of what the original 49'ers or the early men who braved the Black Hills for gold did it's easy to see how easy we all have it nowadays. Even the most seemingly difficult treasure hunt today is nothing compared to what those boys had to go through, no worries about being scalped or shot dead for your diggins' nowadays. Worst case scenario now is needing a shower and change of clothes.

Cool! It's really amazing that people still buy the original expired boxes of film. I think as they age the chemicals degrade and some artists like this as it makes the photos look unique for their projects. That's insane that the copycat new film is $23.50 for just an 8-pack!

Dumpsters in front of old houses are always full of treasure - it's just the contents of the house put into a big metal box! I call them "Urban Treasure Chests". :laughing7: If people got over the negative stigma of the word "dumpster" I'm sure there would be alot more treasures and antiques saved from the landfills.

Treasure is where U find it.

Good thing it did not rain during the time it sat out.
Even tho I think the packages are sealed , A nice box makes for a better sale.

Extraordinary ! Let's not forget too that it was your knowledge that allowed the score - many of us might have looked at those
and not seen the value (I can honestly say I might well have over looked it ) good save ! I love your posts - It is amazing to see
the many forms that treasure can take .

Very nice, I would have snagged that in a heartbeat. Several years ago I found a dumpster full of Agfa photo paper boxes during a rainstorm, and salvaged what I could asap. Made 3 grand in a week off of it, and sold a 560 dollar lots to China of all places. Treasure is where you find it my friend!

JACKPOT FOR SURE! I'm always looking for these... You found stacks of cash in the trash. I heart garbage!

Wonderful save. This film is in great demand.
