Jade Button &MUCH MORE

For the last couple weeks my Dad and I have been pounding an 1830s homestead. I found what I believe is a jade button! Can anyone confirm/deny that it’s jade and not glass? This place has been amazing. We’ve mostly used sieves (hardly any detecting) and have found tons of buttons (including the gorgeous US Army button), blue glass beads, a silver spoon handle with worn down maker’s marks, a pair of iron serving tongs, leather shoe heel, sewing pins and needle, a sweet dinner knife w/ bone handle, huge fossilized shell, loom weights, clay toothbrush, fossilized boar tusk, and SO MUCH MORE!! This place is literally a dream. Nice variety of finds. Congrats

Got this killer pocket knife! It’s got a bone handle and two blades. Small scratches on the brass section. The first part is indistinguishable, but at the end i can make out WI. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533182385.538392.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533182398.315998.webp

Honestly this place has been incredible. I literally find 3-4 amazing finds each trip. A complete bottle or dish is definitely one of my big hopes for this place!! That’d be awesome as heck XD Thanks man! [emoji16]

I was gonna ask as well , those are definitely English gun flints used in early flint lock guns. Cool find I have found one personally but it was a French flint.

Thanks guys! Yep! They’re fun flints [emoji16] My first two ever. The one on the right I had tossed into a bag of glass bottle fragments and later realized it was actually a gun flint [emoji23][emoji23] it blended in super well. How do you tell the difference between an English and French gun flint?

While it’s not full proof for the most part the darker colored ones are referred to as English flints and the lighter color ones are a French referred to as honey flint .... here’s a pic of a French one I found last summer while looking for arrowheads ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533349733.029696.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533349747.264930.webp
