Comp went down and I really didn't miss it much, except for this site and all you fine folks. Now it's time to settle in for the winter so I fixed it, LOL!

Well, the election coverage got pretty boring real quick. They've already announced Obama wins and the polls haven't even closed out here yet!

I propose that we swap the Eastern and the Pacific time zones on election day four years from now so that Oregon will have the chance to feel nominally important in the election results.

Rain is setting in here, ground is now primed for the best detecting of the season, as long as I can sneak out between storms. I hope it'll bring lots O' that deep silver.

Things are pretty much the same around here, between working and working out I'm starting to feel age creeping up on me... I know, I'm still a youngster but I'm looking forward to retiring and maybe doing a little traveling as time permits. Got a few years yet though.

Randy and I both earned our yellow belts awhile back. I was so proud of the little man- he cramped up during testing and was in a lot of pain, but he never gave up. Stuck it out, finished the test, and earned it.

Dad finally retired and we worked on remodeling his workshop for a couple months. Now he has an enclosed area to work on his woodcraft in the winter, a big plus now that he has all this free time. His arm is fully healed and he has most of the function back. No where near as strong, and certain things are really tough, but his hand is basically functional for the most part. We got the family together and put a pond and waterfall in the backyard this fall, too.

Congrats to both of you on the yellow belt! Glad to hear dad is doing better too. You guys gotta come back and visit again. We would have SUCH fun!!
