Yes, visual aspects of a stone are only a part of identification, if they were diamond, they would be the largest found in the USA in a long time, if not ever, hence the (not likely) I am not even touching on the color, or the lack of alluvial wear,which would mean you have found those in context of a kimberlite,not impossible, but very unlikely, having said this, don't lose your enthusiasm, and i encourage you to keep rock hounding, its easier to find, than idenify, good luck Caleb.
