It came with a Deep Search module, so I am wondering if anyone knows if you can use this deep search module with the Cointrax? This cointrax has the first chip in it, the 1.0, so no built in deep search, like the Cointrax II has? I know it will work on the Pro Hunter module, but unsure if it will work on the older (Kellyco?) Cointrax? It will zap up to 3 times the power to the coil, so sure would like to know if I can use it? Any Treasure Baron/Discovery Electronics guys out there still? Thanks

I never had one but was the Coin Trax made by Bounty Hunter or Teknetics ? But they are a nice looking detector...

I think Discovery Electronics was a spin off of some Whites personnel in 1991. Both are in Sweet Home, OR.

George Payne designed the Baron series. He also was the father of Bounty Hunter. Discovery Electronics went out of business, so getting their detectors fixed are almost futile.

Here is a beneficial site for Baron/Millennium/CoinTrax users. Discovery Treasure Baron Page

Just got mine back from Mr. Wills. He did a fine job quickly. Still the deepest machine I've used. Here's how it air tests against my DFX on gold.

I've still got my Treasure Baron (and Gold Trax module) with less than 10 hours on it....decided it was time to use it after leaving the hobby for awhile. Anyone know of any good replacement coils that will work with it? I've got a Detech dealer that is looking for something that will work on the 12.5khz frequency. Tesoro Mohave works at 12khz and it may be 5 pin also. Previously had a Teknetics 8500 unit, Minelab sovereign, Tesoro Bandito, Tesoro Toltec 100, but have liked the George Payne units the best.
