Just curious,the Freedom Ace Plus and the Gold Scorpion have similarities

The control boxes look the same and even about the same weight.I've always wondered if the Scorpion was a Freedom Ace Plus with a higher frequency and other adjustments made. Thanks Ron

Both share the same box, however, both machines are very different. The Scorpion has a true all metal mode which should be manually ground balanced, a motion discriminate mode, a TR mode and a toggle switch to switch to different mode and operates at 15kHz. The Freedom Ace Plus operates at a lower frequency, and only has a motion discriminate mode with a fixed ground balance. Both machines are excellent coin hunters. The Scorpion is also very hot on rings.

I wish the AT PRO also had a true all metal mode or at least a TR mode. Then it would really rock. Course a TR isn't for everybody.

A lot of times they'll use the same control box design to prevent having to design and manufacture a brand new box shape. Just saves money. Its the guts that are different.
