Me & Todd Hiltz had a great day detecting 3 cellar holes .Todd killed it in the copper dept & I was blessed to get my 12th George Washington Inaugural button.. I think it's a CT copper? A musket ball,a complete wooden barrell tap & a couple buttons. The ticks were horrible but great weather and an awesome day to be out in the woods saving history.Anyone good at dating bullets too?

O M G ! TWELVE? Where's mine?

Do you think it was made into a buzzer? Congrats on a great find.

thanks! either a whizzer or they just adored GW that much that they sewed it back on after shank broke.wish these relics could talk.

Congrats Dave!!!

Nice work! You must now hold the world's record for most GW Inaugural Buttons found or owned! :notworthy:

thanks! I'm sure there are detectorists in the 1960's and 70's that found more..I can only imagine being the 1st one to step onto these cellar holes back in the day. must have had a ball!

Outstanding finds. A 12the GW adds a kicker to an inspiring history of digging. From this hunt, I'm also partial to the full barrel tap.

Out of curiosity, what is on your bucket list at this point?

Thanks so much! a draped bust silver coin is on my bucket list and a massachusetts tree coin

Nice digs buddy and good to see you're getting out. I think an even dozen means a nice display? That is, if you don't have one already.

That's a real cool button, and not just because it's a GW. It's cool factor is way up there because it's personalized. Someone was so proud of our country that they holed it after the shank fell off.
