We all have them from time, to time; it's called "just one of those days". Thank god they don't come around too often, but when they do, they sure have a way of messing with you.
I was attending a golf outing for one of the commerce clubs I belong to. The weather wasn't the greatest as we still had some spritz's from a storm the day before, so the remainder of the day was a bit dark and cool. Now it's off to check-in, where my phone jumped off the phone holder 3 times, not a good start. Well I checked in and got my cart assignment and went back to put the clubs on the cart, then off to lunch. After lunch we have a 50/50 on a putting contest and I was part of a 3-way tie, sad to say in the play offs I lost big time
and so begins the start of one of those days.
We all go to the assigned carts and I was told that I had to move my clubs to another cart, so no problem. A few minutes later I was again asked with my playing partner to put our clubs in yet a 3rd cart. A little frustrating, but nothing to get excited about, that will come next.
Since I haven't even picked up a club in a year I knew I was going to be a bit rusty, but not being able to hit the ball on the first tee just started getting to me. It felt like I never held a club in my hand and that was not a good feeling. I normally place my phone in the cart while playing so I can check e-mails during the day, but today I left it on my belt. I had received an e-mail by our second hole and was going to answer it a little later. When we had a break within 2 holes, no cell phone. We tried looking and calling my phone to hear it, but it was not to be. Now I am beside myself, just when I was getting into the swing of things I'm worried about that stupid phone.
Although my play did get better at times, I couldn't focus thinking of my Blackberry. I had reported my phone lost to one of the grounds people so word quickly spread to be on the lookout for the phone. I went on playing and finally playing well for the last 9 holes and returned to the pro shop and see if it was found. Not yet, so I had to leave my information and started to get ready for the dinner. I mentioned the problem to the committee chairman, who would make an announcement later and then to my friend to borrow his phone. I got a cart and went to where I thought it might have been found and started calling. Well I got lucky and a group from the dinner had it
For dinner the seating wasn't properly set up to accommodate the full group and since I was out looking for my phone, I was short a place to sit. Well eventually all was resolved and that was the last inconvenience I would have for the day. Although it wasn't the worst day in the world, it sure felt like it to me
P.S. When I was trying to post this a bit earlier I couldn't get any access to T-Net
Were any of you having this problem, or is this a carry over from yesterday
