Yes indeed. I posted that I had never found an 1970 and I also posted I had never found a Franklin proof. Crossed those both off my list today along with a 1976 silver proof. I had gotten a 1976 silver before but it wasnt proof.

Ok so here are the results of another great day:

21 - Franklins 1955 the oldest, about half of them appear to be proofs - maybe more
10 - 1964
19 - 40% many uncirculated
5 - 40% proofs 2 1968, 1 1969, 2 1970
30 - 1976 silver 40% and half appear to be proofs
19 - clad proofs, 1971-1977

top left photo is the clad proofs, middle photo is the Franklins, top right the 40%, bottom pic is everything

wow you were in the right place at the right time... were the coins all concentrated in a few rolls or scattered out? did you get any solid rolls? enders?

scattered through out and several enders. No pics of the rolls, my phone was dead at the time.

Good job. That's an awesome score. Did they make silver business strike and silver proofs on the bicentennials? I didn't know that. I found my first 1976 silver yesterday and it was an S mint mark, but it definitely didn't look like a cameo. I just figured the silver was tarnished.

fish on -

"The 1976-S Uncirculated Silver Bicentennial Half Dollars were only sold by the U.S. Mint in a 3-Piece Bicentennial Mint Set for that year. Additionally, this is also a one year Type coin as the reverse design was changed in 1977.

In 1976 the Mint also struck three different circulation strike Kennedy Half Dollars, along with two different Types of Proofs. The other two circulation strike coins produced were the Clad 1976 P and D mint mark Bicentennial Half Dollars. Since the Clad 1976 P and D mint mark coins went into circulation, they are much more difficult to find in high Uncirculated condition. For the Proofs, the Mint struck a 1976-S Clad Half Dollar and finally, it also struck a Silver Proof version."

Amazing!! I hope my family doesn't dump my collection someday!

If I don't find silver it's not because I'm not looking!

The 1955 Franklin is the key to the series. Awesome pics!!
