Was out Putzing around ... learning some new stuff on an old tool
saw this guy sitting on top of a trumpet vine.
Wasn't sure I had him till I looked at all the pictures after downloading.

That's a lovely picture Old dog. Is it a hummingbird? I have heard so much about them, wish they would migrate to the UK, but too cold for them I suppose.

Yes, that is a very young Ruby Throated Hummer. The sun was at the wrong angle and most of what I got was shadow.
I felt pretty lucky just to have caught him as they usually don't stop.
Especially when defending a trumpet vine of this size.

Of course he's resting. I was out in your part of the country a couple of weeks ago and it was way too hot, so I couldn't wait to get back to the mountains. Good to hear from ya, take care!
