How far away did it detect, and how did you find it ?
Why won't they point to cars and trucks or someone's gold necklace ?

Yes.
The target distance depends on the target size, I Dowse the connection line to the target, then Dowse the depth and substance of the target.
They do point at cars, and Gold necklaces, and diamond rings, on fingers.
