Kentucky Clovis to cry over

Found yesterday in Kentucky while hunting with Ohio. I have walked this field for 17 years and it figures that the only Paleo point that I have ever found there turned out to be a broken Clovis made from translucent Carter Cave flint. Thinner than a dime and ground up the sides, I'm still sick over it. Moundbuilder

Hmmm, never seen a preform with heavy grinding on the sides of the stem but who knows.

Bet your heart was pitter pattering. I assume Ogdens? Just a guess. Can you imagine what could be found if they scraped off 3 feet of soil at that place.

Looks like a flint, used in the Kentucky Flintlock rifles...would love to find a hidden stash of rifle flints.

Some Carter Cave does resemble the translucent honey colored Dutch flint used for KY flintlock rifles. I have found a few of the the darker gray English gun flints where I walk. It would be cool to find a gun flint knapped from local material...
