Went out to the same woods were I always go. I decided to try to hunt a small rocky place where it seems someone a few hundred years ago threw a lot of big rocks into a pile. Some stones where blocky and seemed to have been carved and used as foundations... Anyway, I got a really good 72 signal on my at pro and thought it would be either a small 10 öre from the 1940s or a pistol shell... This baby popped up and at first I really thought it was nothing special until I saw that long nosed portrait. It was about 1 cm down or less than half an inch beneath the moss resting on the bedrock. I just sat there for maybe 15 minutes shocked at what I found. This is exactly what all detectorists in Sweden are looking to find...
I've been detecting since 2013 and never have I found a silver from Karl XIV Johan... To top it all off: these type of coins were only minted 1835 and 1836. The 1836 on 5 is the rarer variety. 80 000 were minted this year compared to 400 000+ 1835. And I dug the 36!!!! I didn't realize it was keydate until I came home.
It was such a great day... My friend also found a pocket watch made in brass from maybe 1800 ish.
This is probably the best silver coin that I've dug so far...
