Key Date 1901s Barber dime found

I went back across the street to the Christmas tree farm MDing. At the start of my second row I found a 1901s Barber dime. It needs some cleaning but I am going to see if it is worth having it professionaly cleaned, graded and slabbed. In bad shape the book has it at $80.00 bucks. I also found an 1888 Indian head penny.

A nice find regardless of it's grading WTG and it's a key date too? Nice.

Pine trees kill coins . The tannic acid secreted can and does break down granite, imagine what it does to metal. Nice coin!

Nice coin, it has some pretty decent detail to it. Congrats on the key date, keep hitting that tree farm. HH

....and years of chemicals put on the trees (fertilizer, weed killer etc.).

How do you know a coin is or has a "key date"?

Nice find. I've got a 1904 Barber. Only one I've found.

awesome dime..$80.00 at least

that may be one to send in for grading, the detail looks all intact(almost not worn at all)an F-12 could bring $360

Thanks for looking. Does anyone know the cost of grading / cleaning? I like some tips. Thanks in advance.

Mighty nice dime there!

It's been a long time since I dug a Barber.
