Key tag?

[oddcoins]

Hello!

I dug this at a park in NE Portland Oregon yesterday. Looks like some sort of key tag or something. Copper, about the size of a half dollar (but thinner) ~ S. S. LINNEA 87

Any ideas?

Ever seen the movie October Sky? Looks like a miner's ID tag.
