Irrigation draw down. In the desert it always droughty. Largest lake in Nebraska Second largest earthen dam ever built in USA.
At 65% it still has more water in it than all the other lakes in state combined. 20 some miles long. The largest dam built this way washed out and was big flood on the snake river. The video shows a big cat crawler trying to fix, guy jumps off and runs and the thing is washed away.

White sugar sand beaches, I just www how many visitors it said 180000 from july 1-july 4. Its big big lake and denver in 3 short hours away
The lake water you can see is probably 3-4 miles wide. It looks like a little stream.
