Sorry no pictures but went back to the beach over the weekend. Hunted Friday night till dark with my trusty Sea Hunter. Within first 15 minutes found a white gold hoop earring. Then found a bunch of change approx $2.00. Also found nails and nails and nails. Some junk and left around 8PM was getting too dark. Came back the next day. Started hunting with the GTI 2500 was there at 7AM. Did not see one metal detector the whole day. Low tide was around 7. Marine layer was in then disappeared around 12PM Noon. People started to show up so I quit. Couldn't believe it the beach was packed by 2PM. Decided to just pack up and leave around 4PM high tide moving in. More change found and got a sunburn. Again didn't see any other detectorists out there. Thought about going out early Sunday but decided against it. If any of you went out on Sunday and hunted the beach let me know how you did. Overall within the weekend got the earring, a silver hair clasp some change approx $5.+. had a good time though.

Looks like in August going to Illinois. Looked at a beach called Lake Wildwood. Have try that. Will ship my detector early don't want the plane to screw it up, plus easier to ship my sand scoop anyway.
Good luck with your hunting adventures.

Good Luck in IL

I have never had a problem with the airlines and my MD. I have a large suit case that I pack half my clothes in then put the detector and scoop in a black garbage bag on top then pack the other half of clothes. Works like a charm. If there is anything I don't want crushed like toothpaste or shampoo I place it inside the scoop.

I use one of those heavy, hard golf cases that has the ability to survive a nuclear strike. The bag fees these days make it a little less desirable, but Frontier isn't too bad. And Southwest. I will pack clothes, etc. Just keep it under 50 lbs so you don't incur another charge. Some airlines weigh and some don't. In many airports I have to take it to security. I enjoy their faces when they pull out my 10 inch combat knife (digger) and my small pick ax. Just remember: Sports equipment. Purchased my case at a garage sale: $10.
