Finally got out. The quarry was blocked off. Looks like they don't want anyone up there now, so I went to the lake. I was under just over 3 hours and got this pile of stuff

I found a plumb bob and the usual clad. I found a 1929 whew tie and three rings. Two have hallmarks. The plain Jane band says .925

I'll post new pics when I polish this rings up a little.

Nice score on the silver rings! Congrats!

They are closing own a lot of quarries because of recent drownings in them.

When I was a kid, I grew up in Maine. I learned to swim in a quarry. Some of my fondest childhood memories are in that quarry. The bad thing is that its all privately-owned and some richie-rich bought it and put a house right next to it. It feels like I lost my childhood.

One aluminum 80 will give me 2.5-3 hours if I stay between 5-20 feet. Anytime you get over one atmosphere, the compression begins to make you use more. Most of the time I am in less than 15 ft. Honestly, I really do not care to go any longer than 3 hours. My toes start cramping in my boots. My calves start to cramp. My back has had it from crawling around on the lakebed. Three hours underwater is enough to make this old man take a nap! :laughing7:

Heck 3 hours walking around swinging kills me...I think you had a good hunt, silver is always nice..

I feel your pain, except my experience involved a 400 acre lake. Cannot even get a fishing boat in there any more.
