We find a few here in the central sierra's . This case has some slate and basalt Lanceolate all surface finds and sierra contracting stem types . The in hand photo I found a few days ago Steamboat Lanceolate 3000 to 2000 B.C. . same age on the contracting stem types . P2260543.webpPC181560.webp

This was my first point I ever found. What a way to start a hobby I am still trying to beat it. This one is probably a knife.

the brown one could be a lanceolate,the other is a copenacopena 001.webpcopena 003.webp
 

Cool thread, lots of interesting artifacts. I'm not sure if this is a lance type or a hand held knife, or possibly not finished. This was found in a dirt pile that was created during the construction of our driveway, it was one of the first pieces found here on our property. Its Jasper with a funny little horn, for lack of a better description, on one side near the tip.

Hey Timekiller, is that one of those Alamance points, that are suspected to be pre-Clovis? Cool point either way !
I don't think so buddy but I would put it in the clovis era mabe.By definition I would consider something like this one more of a Alamance type point myself.

This is one I found this year probably the best I have. gray one I found in a field. The other pic I found both mins apart same area.

Not sure if the quartz is considered Lancelot type but the rhyolite one is...too bad it's broken on the tip and the base...it was also the first point I found in the creek.
