did anyone get the chance to meet MR. HOTHEM ? i met him before he passed ... at the collinsville illinois show in illiniois. any ohioans ever hunt his old places. and does anyone have any artifacts that were auctioned off. finally does he still have his books for sale from his former library. i think his wife was running the business.

Yeah I met him a couple times, you can find alot of his books and x-collection for sale on ebay and arrowheads.com , I purchased 3 frames of his but sold them all.

He was a fixture at many shows, and I ended up sitting next to him several times. A very nice guy.

I built the better part of my library trading rocks for books with him on the last day of many shows.

I never got the chance to meet him but I own several X - Hothem pieces and I really appreciate the research and work he did for this hobby. ' Paleo Indian Artifacts ' and ' Flint Ridge Artifacts ' are two of my favorite books he wrote. I like his format, nice color pictures and a brief description with everything you need to know. I own a few books signed by Lar Hothem. Here's a Flint Ridge blade X - Hothem.

I met and talked to him many times at the ASO meetings in Columbus. He was a very personable guy and loved to talk artifacts. I wish I would have bought some of the pieces from his auction but everything went really high and I just couldn't warrant spending that much. I do have a few of his books though. If you Google "Hothem House" you can still find his books for sale.
