I went out today, and found a wallet coin holder filled with silver and wheats with the old CTX. The coins just kept coming and here's a pic during the fun...

Funny enough, the signal was initially a 12-41 (wheat penny) on the CTX.
For a few laughs I brought the wallet home with the coin impressions and all of the sudden I see a bill!

It turned out to be just the ink of the bill that stained the leather after disintegrating.

Very very cool. The coins in total equal $1.41. Now as for the bills, the $1 bill is obvious, but there was another bill mixed in that was expertly identified by Bartek, and another Tnet member in "what is it?"

A Canada $1 Bill from the 1930's!

The oldest wheat is 1916, the newest coins are 1951. Enjoy and good digs

Super fun find, and nice forensic work on the ID by others. You have such a great time in this hobby, it is enjoyable to spectate.

BOBs and others who have hunted with this man: has anyone actually seen his feet? Like, are they actually lucky rabbits feet or something? Four leaf clover birthmarks? Any strange rituals or sacrificial rites prior to powering up the detector? Inquiring minds want to know... :laughing7:

I have hunted with him. It aint pretty. He doesn't really hunt like normal people, he skips right to the "finding" part. Five of us hunted together earlier in the year. Scraps found MORE and BETTER stuff than the other four of us combined. I got pictures of what I refer to as "The Humbling".

Congrats on nice find Scraps! You know I really stuff like this.

That is an unusual find and way to find the coins, congrats! May never know the story of how the wallet and spill came to be there, but we know the conclusion!:icon_thumright:

Sweet. & very COOL!

That's too cool!!I can't find a Walker laying by itself never mind in a lost wallet. Lol Only wallet/small purse I ever found had a few memorials in it.
Good research with the ID, now why a Canadian bill with US change. Gotta love all the mysteries of this sport.
Congrats!!

Good job on recovering history!

Congrats on a sweet find!
Lots of good looking Silver there! :occasion14:

Nice find scrappy! It rang up like a wheatie, huh? Im always on the lookout for what the casche (coin wallet) sounded like. Thanks for sharing! HH

Boom! Jackpot Scrap! So...was it a..LOUD wheat signal? At least tell us you ALMOST passed on it...lol..Great find...my largest or multi-silver spill has been limited to a paltry 2 coins, but has happened a few times. Congrats..Ddf

Haha, yes, I have a lot of signals I want to pass, but I rarely do. This one was no exception and the thought crossed my mind. I've had a lot of banging loud signals turn out to be incredible relics.

I guess being exposed to the elements for as long period of time, (60 plus years) will cause I.D. papers and licenses to decompose. Very nice find. I imagone fell asleep against a tree.
A hard find to top.
Congratulations

The wallet had plastic inserts, I was hoping for a picture or ID card, but unfortunately either nothing was there, or they disintegrated. Cheers

Nice digs Steve , wtg always pulling something cool !! Hh gl

Thanks buddy. This is a continuation of that area we spoke about the other day. This site was a house abandoned in the 1950's.

Very cool find Scrappy, it's one of the finds that kind of rents space in the memory bank. Congrats

Too funny on the humming the tune, I've found myself more than a few times having Janis renting space. When the weather/conditions are rotten, the one tune that of hummed is "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot.

Haha, yes, classic tune there. I'll try that one next time I'm out in terrible weather detecting. Usually I just curse and call myself an obsessed idiot. Lol

Even though its not old it's a super duper cool find. FU Steve and your lucky rabbit feet!

Haha. I lent them to Brad - says you're taking him water hunting soon and wants to whip your butt. Lol

Always wanted to find a large coins spill or change purse. Great find Steve!

This was a really cool find Man! Congrats! Still waiting for my first wallet to find....

Thanks Evan. Spills come when you least expect it. This one was in a swampy section behind an old cellar hole. I was sure nothing was back there.

Hope you're well bud

This was a really cool find Man! Congrats! Still waiting for my first wallet to find....

I've found rotten old wallets from the 70's with nothing in them. This I figure was lost in '52 or '53 - a snapshot in time and a way to see what was circulating together.

Very cool find.

Scrappy, you are one of the best diggers I have seen posting lately.
