Saturday morning I spet 1.5 hours at one of my older spots and was happy to come home with a couple of keepers. The Large Cent is a Matron Head, 1816-1839. No date visible on this one. This is copper #5 for this spot. The ornimental, square thing has me wondering what it is. The last keeper was the Tombac button.
Sunday morning I hit another spot as kind of a scouting mission. Not too much to brag about. The thimble is aluminum. The suspender thingy would have been a great one with the red glass in the center but my super powers of pinpointing let me chop it right in half. Better luck next time I guess. The fired round ball was the last find.
It felt really good to get out.......
