Detector(s) used
White's XL Pro 6000
Hey, Tnet zoysters, I got out today with my metal detecting buds, KirkPA and PACO. As KirkPA already stated, the day started at Pac's home, then the mart, and lastly, we arrived at out productive field: the Best Field in PA.

After fine-tuning my 90s style analog detector to the ground conditions of this ancient dwellers soil, I decided to grid out an area with the usual zoyboy professionalism. After 10 minutes of focused White's sweepin', I got a nice "R" on "Quarter" on my analog screen. It turned out to be an 1825 Coronet cent. The dudes came over and did the jovial dance with me.

To make a long metal detecting story short, I was swinging in Mr. Walter's style, when I was startled by an "A" on "Quarter" hit on my 90s style machine. After slamming down two foundation stones and I mean SLAMMING, I excavated a beautiful 1831 Coronet cent. After I pulled it from the super depth, I yelled out, "Number 23! Large coppa." While stating this to my partners, I proceeded to run backwards while spinning around in child-like celebration. The "Bone Dry Datecting" dance proceeded once again.

Continuing with the Mr. Walter-like swinging, I was startled with another "A" on "Quarter" hit on my trusty XL Pro. After digging down to its pinpointed depth of 4", I plucked out an 181? Coronet cent. I instantly yelled out, "24! Large coppa!"

My total finds for the day were 5 butt-ins, 1820s-1830s knife (found in the same hole with a flat butt-tin), and three Coronet cents. After this day, our group agreed to name this site the "Coronet Field."

White's strikes again!

*All relics were found on property that we had to obtain permission to hunt, eliminating the risk of a Trespass fine.

VERY nice digs! Coppas don't come out of the ground lookin' like that over here (at least not for me). Toasty to say the least...

Congrats

MAN! looks like you all had a great time! I hope you can add to this "coppa" family you started. ;D and if so, post pics. Hope you have continued good luck hunting.

This deserves to be back on top, brother! You are lethal with that XL.

As you stated on Sunday, "I am punching super deep. I found this relic at 10"."

KirkPA stated back, "No Max?"

Nice Coronets, Zoy!

You've got to be leading you group in LC recoveries this year.

Thanks for sharing.

This zoyster is catching up; I have found 6 coins in the last week: a 1700 cut William thoyd (third) coppa, 1818 big girl, 181? bigster, 1825 zoyster, 1831 beauty, and a 1965 clad dime ( :D :D :D :D :D).

Very cool, Zoy.
My money is on you. ;D

Thanks, Paul Paul, it is greatly appreciated. I have been pulling a "Mr. Walter" on PACO and KirkPA quite recently. "Chris, I'm an aaaaaaaaall year kind of detectorist. I might go three or fourth months and find 3 coins, but they are usually older than 1810, Chris," as stated by Mr. Walter to my uncle, Chris a.k.a. Silver Zeus.

Those are some great looking Large Cents in nice condition too. The one with the hole is kinda cool, it gives it character. I expect a lot more to come from this site. WTG!

WTG Zoy!! The LC is one of my faves, only have two this year and both no date matrons, and an 1896 britt but I don't really count that.I only have a month max left here to detect before the frost. Can you really hunt year-round in PA? Congrats, Bootstrap

We detected last year through the winter. I am hoping the foul weather misses us again. Gotta love the historic soil in PA!

I totally missed the 1965 dime. Did you post a picture of it? I might have to call BS on this one Zoy. I dont know if I believe you. LMAO ;D :D Who loses a 1965 dime in a 17th/18th century field? I think Kirk threw that one down to distract you so he could catch up to your ridiculous coppa totals of late. ;D

if you hit spell check you'd be at it all day........

He is a zoy and a boy, so we call him "zoyboy." I guess some things are left to remain a mystery.

If you would hit capitalization check, you'd be at it all day....:D.

Whats the theory about the hole in the centre of the coin?

The chap probably holed the coin because of extreme boredom. ;) ;) Furthermore :D, it could have been on a string, eliminating the risk of dropping an ancient coin. :D :D

Cheers

Coins were usually holed toward the rim... The hole in the centeris indeed odd.
