large copper coin

Hi all.Found an old copper coin today and I was hoping someone could tell me what it is ? Its a little bigger than US half dollar and has the profiles of 4 people with a crown above and the date 1897 ? on one side and three shields and a crown on the other.There is writng around the edge but all I can make out is "something...tys reign" thanks !

I believe that this is a Queen Victoria jubilee medal. The partial inscription *TYS REIGN is from "To Commemorate the 60th Year of Her Majesty's Reign."
