Went to an older house tear down, that I believe the houses were torn down in the 50s or maybe the 60s to make a double base ball diamond field for a really old school. I seem to only find coins from the 40s and back and a lot of finds from the 20s and 30s. The first good find was the 1903 barber quarter at about 10"-12". It was bent probably from an old push mower, so I didn't mind scuffing it. Next was the sterling knife handle, (38g), that still had a little steel pin stuck in the end, that use to be the blade. The little hat charm that I believe is sterling was found at about 10". I hunted this spot two other times for a couple hours each time and came up with old wheats and two merc's from the 20s. Thanks for looking!

I looked inside the handle when I pulled the steel pin out and it was all hollow inside, so the filling must have dissolved or something. The end of the handle way down inside I think has some though. It is a light greenish color.

Super Silver!
Love that knife handle!
I got one of the same weight from saltwater, all the steel was already rusted out :hello2:

getting those pins out can be extremely difficult, I usually just cut the handles open..

(when I snag sterling knives at goodwill or yard sales, dug items aren't scrapped)
Great Finds Thanks for showing! HH
