Large Silver on a Cold Rainy Day

Hello Everyone,

The weather has not been very good for detecting lately combined with the end of the semester craziness; I’ve been not able to play in the dirt. Today, it was raining most of the day, hard at times, but I was hoping for a bit of time to swing the stick. The rain stopped around 2:00 pm and I was out the door to this old park. :hello2:

I was able to hunt in a new area exposed by the winter season (actually part of the original park) until the heavens once again poured down upon me. I found the usual junk, some clad and then a screaming sound on the Minelab Explorer SE. It was one of those sounds that could be large junk (can lid…etc.) or a killer find; it turned out to be a very well worn 1889O Morgan Dollar. I did manage to scratch the coin a bit while recovering it, :BangHead:

but at least I didn’t ding it with the digger! :tongue3:

I’m hoping that this was not the last hunt of the year, but only time will tell.

That is fantastic. Congratulations POE (Not Edgar Allen) on finding something that big and silver in today's competitive world of MD'ing, a rarity for sure. Sub 8-)
