Large Unknown Vintage Heraldic/Military Crest Patch/Banner

Does anyone know what this cloth patch is? I thought that it perhaps was a larger version of a US Army distinctive unit insignia, but I’m not sure. The thistle and eagle seem European to me. Maybe it is a heraldic crest? The patch measures approximately 10” high x 8” wide and is sewn on blue cloth (like a table cloth) that appears to have been cut down in size. Any help is appreciated!

The red object in the center is a jousting lance. I’m not sure how they are all connected. Also, it is probably important to mention that the patch is one sided (not double sided).
