i have a good friend that owns a tree service contracting business
he lives by me
a person from central ND is wanting to sell him the following artifacts
what is your opinion on the origin of these as it seems obvious that most are not mandan.........but some are
i feel that this is something to stay away from
these were supposed to be found 40 miles south of the KRF quarries IMG_3614.webpIMG_3615.webpIMG_3616.webpIMG_3617.webp

I know there is a very wide variety of materials and types that can be found along the upper stretches of the mighty Mo. Besides the bad or obvious modern piece, and persiahables, the only thing that REALLY stand out to me is the ratio of KRF pieces to other materials. There should be way more nicely flaked brown pieces.:-)

That being said, I wouldn't go as far as to say they come from all over because I have seen, similar relics and materials come from the area. I also realize that I cannot determine what materials are there from the pics. SOooo, I will just stick with the obvious, that collection is way to short on Knife River Flint to be a complete collection from the area. Or, maybe it has just been picked over as someone else suggested.

I wish there were better pics of the upper left frame in the last photo. That one looks like it could hold some real KRF gems of some size..

his pictures were not that good so that is about as good as i could show
there were other pictures of repro hatchets and hammers

the person trying to sell wanted over 2000 bucks and i think less than half was from north dakota with many fakes
