Well, finally something to post again. so I had my last 4 boxes to be skunks. These 2 boxes weren't, box 1 was pretty cool to go through, it had 2 proof enders and 1 reverse silver ender. Ok, so here's the break down,

Box 1
62 Franklin proof!
64
66 x2
67
68 x4
69
and 12 proofs, as follows
78, 80, 83, 85, 88, 89, 90, 92, 93, 94, 98, 2000, and the 62

Box 2= 1 69.

So I'm very happy with todays score, if the 62 isn't a proof please let me know, it has a mirror finish on it, and those are the best pics I could put up of it and the rest. Thanks for looking, as always, Good luck to everyone hunting today!, Maverick.

WOW buddy GREAT SCORE!!!! You lucky dog! I wish I could've found that box! I got an Intercept Shield album and all those proofs would look great in it! ;) Great job buddy!

Thanks Boris, ya it's funny that we were just talking to each other about how many proofs we find in boxes, I almost felt bad posting this box, I knew you'd see it and be like, man, I wish I had that box, lol. I'm sure yours will show up soon. HH, Maverick.

How do you know the Franklin is proof and not just a good condition BU? I know that nowadays the frosting makes the difference, but since they didn't have that back then, how can you be sure? Is it the same mirrorred finish like today's backgrounds in proofs? Or is it just very shiny? What gives it away as a proof and not a brilliant uncirculated?

Hey Jrf, I'm not positive, thats wht I asked if anyone else knew if it was a proof or not. I does have a mirrorred back ground front and back (doesn't show very well in the pics) and it is thicker than any other one that I have. I'm not sure, but I thought I read somewhere that the older coins didn't have a frosted image on them. I do have some that are really bright, but this is the only one that I have ever recieved that had a mirrorred background on it. Buff knows more than I do about coins and seems to think it is a proof too. I guess I should look it up on google and see, but it is definetly a mirror finish on it and there were so many other proofs in this box I figured the odds were good that it was too. Thanks for looking

He posted a pic of the Rim of the franklin proof.

See how Wide and square it is? That is how he could tell.

I think the rim might be raised, giving it a much thicker look.

I'll be okay, lol. Hopefully one day I'll find one that good! :)

I found a couple boxes like that recently. I think more collections are getting dumped lately, though I'm at a loss to explain the timing.

Beautiful score! i would handle those proofs with gloves
