Dad & I decided to carry on from where I left off ysterday. This was our last 3.5 hours (7 man hours) on this field as the beans are now well established.

I started a little too well (3rd dig) with a album coin of Magnetius AD350-353. Its a Centenionalis which makes it quite a rare find for us.

We finished with 4 scrappies (1 holed).
2 nice Victorian buttons.
1 very nice Georgian Cuff link
1 Roman Fibula (Brooch)
nice complete 17th century spur buckle
and the usual bits....

Sad to give up on a nice field but we respect the farmers wishes specially as this is the first year with this new farmer.

Thanks, but I'm just lucky to have settled in a history rich area. Equally as lucky that no-one in the area had thought to ask the farmers for permission. Instead they sneak around at night which means that I now have exclusive permission for all the farms in the area. Only ones that won't lets us detect is the Church farms. Funny really as they have some of the best land which is being robbed. If I were doing it they could make money which is all they are interested in. They have lost out big time.

Everytime i see that you have a new post, i know there is some good stuff coming up. 8)

Brilliant work. ;)

CRUSADER, you and your dad have such wonderful posts. . . both of you have really found some amazing things!

Crusader,
I have no idea what an album coin is, but I'm sure it's a hell of a find if you or your Dad found it. ;D
I like those old buckle you found too.
Way to go.

Good finds....i must get out more! I feel a visit to the farm coming on.

Crusader,
The stories and photos of your finds has added immeasureable to the coffers of British Airways and KLM this year with my two detecting trips to the UK and now since you refuse to stop posting wonderful finds I am planning on returning to England in April for another go at it. Keep posting the photos of your finds and I'll keep showing them to my wife as my excuse for "needing" to travel to England again.
Best regards to you and Crusader Dad.

I have 3 grades of bronze Roman Coins:
Scrappy - no or little detail left - These are stuck in a jar with the other 2000
Bowl Grade - Some detail on both sides but no enough to identify - These sit in a complete Roman bowl & are given to kids or others with interest when I do displays
Album Coins - Good detail & can be identified - Added to my 2 Roman Coin Albums
