Dad & I decided to carry on from where I left off ysterday. This was our last 3.5 hours (7 man hours) on this field as the beans are now well established.

I started a little too well (3rd dig) with a album coin of Magnetius AD350-353. Its a Centenionalis which makes it quite a rare find for us.

We finished with 4 scrappies (1 holed).
2 nice Victorian buttons.
1 very nice Georgian Cuff link
1 Roman Fibula (Brooch)
nice complete 17th century spur buckle
and the usual bits....

Sad to give up on a nice field but we respect the farmers wishes specially as this is the first year with this new farmer.

Merry Christmas ! (Gleðileg Jól og Farsaelt Komandi ár! ) Icelandic 8)

Hey, Derek752. Are you from Iceland or go there very often? While in the USAF, I used to stand alerts and fly intercepts out of Keflavic (probably misspelled) aboard E-3s against Russian bombers. (mid-1980s) Interesting times. Good folks in Iceland and some beautiful clothing made from Icelandic wool.

Real tricky taking hot showers though---if you know what I mean. :o :o ;D

;D ;D The spell check on this site didn't know what to do with the Icelandic words and it offered "Cleavage" for "Keflavic". ::) It ignored the word "farts" in another post I made. Go figure.

Wow those are some great finds. Sorry you have to give up the site for the beans, but It's great the new farmer lets you hunt there.

Thanks for sharing

hey Crusader, when Jimmie Sierra has his trips to England, do you get involved with those? just curious... by the way, confession time.. I ADORE THE HENGE there... and if not in this lifetime as I want to come to see it...my ashes at least will go there.. I dream and dream the same dream over and over again and its always the same about the henge..

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful :o History is learned from one's like yourself! Great finds!
