It has been a long time since I did any real detecting but I finally have started getting back in the groove of things. I traded my MXT for a Garrett's AT Pro and it is an awesome machine! My detecting partner and I have been hitting a small site close to a river that saw some troop action. The buttons are pretty much all toasted from the soil but they are still good finds to me. The Marine button was a surprise, the back is long since gone but I will definitely take it anyway...The large eagle is an eagle I and the cuff size eagle is just a plain general service but it is perfect...still has a good shank and good clean backmark. Lots of misc brass has come out of this area but my best piece is what appears to be the trigger guard for an old musket, maybe some of you guys will be able to ID it. My hunting partner has found 2 cast I buttons and a Mississippi button in this area as well. The Mercury dime was at about 13 inches deep and the other coin is a toasted V nickel that was close to 10 inches. All in all I think we have done ok for a couple of Georgia boys!
