I’m still passing through the demo zone at this park. I’m finding a lot of brick and junk and I was getting pretty frustrated after three hours of not getting much and thinking I should have moved to the North instead of South so I wasn’t in this zone anymore but my phone alarm was telling me it was time to go. In a legit “fine, I’ll dig one more hole” moment, I came to a signal (high 70’s) I thought was going to be one of the old screw top pop bottle caps again.

Saved on the last hole and I’m six for seven trips here! 23g of silver [emoji16]. I guess I’ll have to keep slogging it out through this area to be sure I get it all.

Happy hunting and good luck out there!

Great looking silver bracelet buddy! :occasion14:
Good thing you didn't end the hunt when your alarm went off.

Right? Based on the finds I have to conclude either no one has hunted this park before or they were sporadic. I’ve only covered close to a quarter of the soccer field so far.

I think we're fortunate here in Canada that metal detecting never really took off as a hobby to the extent it did in the US. There are still a lot of virgin sites, including parks out there that were either hunted years ago or have never been detected at all. When I started detecting in 2010, I found a park at the intersection of Danforth & Kennedy Road in Scarborough that had two schools and 4 bus stops surrounding it. I hunted that park for two years with my AT Pro and pulled over 50 silver coins and one of the most beautiful silver thimbles I've ever found there.

Best of luck to you my friend,
Dave

I’d treasure that thimble, that’s for sure. Looks Irish.

It is Irish; it was made by a London silver maker in 1906.
Years ago I took it to Gold and Silver Pawn 'Pawn Stars' in Las Vegas to sell it, but the most they would offer me was $40, so I decided to keep it. :laughing7:

Best of luck to you this weekend,
Dave
