Last hunt-1864 Indian and relics

I got out the other day,first time in over 2 months . I was surprised I still remembered how to use the machine! Anyway ,dug a 1864 Indian , button with a neat design, Half a pocket watch and 2 bells connected to a iron bar. I'm not sure what the were on but they would have to swing back and forth to sound.The bar has a hole where it looks where it was connected .They have there clangers and are pitched different,sound great.Any ideas what these were mounted on? Thanks for looking!

First just soap and water to get the loose dirt off. Then a soak in veg oil to loosen more crud. When the coin is still wet,use a toothpick to pick at the rest. This works pretty good for me

I'll try that. I use vegetable oil on most of my stuff but never really had a coin that had as much detail as the Indian I found so I figured it would be a pretty good candidate

Good luck! Just don't do this will olive oil,it will change the color of the coin. I usually use mineral oil but I was out,it's clear so it leaves everything the same. You could leave a coin in that for months with no color change
