Oh! Of course that's what it is! Missing the rubber ends...

Good ID.

Yours would have been integrated into the door hinge.

I agree it does resemble that type of door hinge. Only thing I can't figure out is how the door was attached if the stopper was inserted in the hinge? Those stopper have a ring attachment method. It would fit better for a stopper attached to the lower part of the door, but then why would it need the little handle?

I agree it looks like a door stopper for a hinge. The hinge pin is removed and driven back in thru the stopper and the hinge together.. Thats the way I instal them. Yours appears to have a piece of hinge pin frozen inside. Can you remove the hinge pin piece? The adjustable part is also missing on yours. It would usually attach to the higher hinge on the inside of the door.

I'll clean it some more but don't think it's a frozen hinge piece (each tap is 1/2"). The other door stopper type would fit design better, but then why the handle??? The flat round attachment will move, but less than 45 degree angle.

Maybe a bottle cork press, latch to close/open or a Morse code egg counter :dontknow: ;D

I don't think that's a handle. I think it had a rubber cap on the end to act as a bumper against the door or wall.

Then again, we could be completely wrong. Wouldn't be the first time...

The tappered/pointed end of the 'handle' with small tap point serves what purpose if a rubber cap was attached?

From my previous post:

I thought at first the pointed end was broken. The assembly attaches high up on the top hinge inside the door. As the door opens, a rubber bumper arm is on the door and the other bumper arm is on the wall. The pointed end needs to be adjustible and I thought something was missing. But I agree we may be wrong if you cant drive the hinge pin thru it.

Doesn't look long enough to be a door stopper and why would the round part be movable rather than stationary? The pin looks to be permanent and nothing broken off anywhere. Looks to be cast and the burrs hand filed off. If it's a door stopper must be an old one!!
