so i grab the 202 and get heading to a old home site iv worked a Lil bit. was not disappointed managed some keepers, 1944x2, 1945x2, 1945d, wheat's. and pulled my very 1st war nickle ;D a nice 1942s, and a nice 2 1/2 cent token and a Procter & gamble token!! this has been a week for tokens 4 so far. best of digs to all and remember USE OIL NOT DOPE!!!!!!!!!! MR TUFF

great finds! what the heck does"use oil not dope" mean? love to know the history on that one.

I KINDA WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING. :dontknow:
 
I know they call grease pipe dope in the oil field. Maybe that's what they are referring too... good job
 
Awsome token Mr. Tuff! I can't find it in Rulau, yet the " 2 1/2 cent in trade" seems to suggest it was from the era of half cents (ending 1857) ? :icon_scratch:

No. Actually, businesses sometimes set prices of drinks at 2 1/2 cents so that a visitor would pay with a nickel and got a token back as change that could only be redeemed at that business. It would be like your favorite restaurant double charging you for your lunch, then telling you to come back that the next meal of equal value was "on the house." :D Clever ploy, this was.

ya dope does have another meaning. there referring to lubrication. nice hunt . willy
 
wow 4 tokens in one week some folks are lucky to find one all year
