Got out with Jo yesterday afternoon for some digging. We hit a home site from the late colonial era. It still sits in a small woods and has been abandoned for nearly a century so we detected the fields that surround it. Plenty of signals and definitely worth some return trips. This was our 1st hunt with our updated 4.1 Deus's. The numbers are lower than before so the half reale was a definite surprise. The detectors seem much more stable and I was able to crank my sens to 97 and run the iron wide open (-6.4). I like being able to have the reactivity on 2.5. I always used 3 before because 2 is a little too slow for my swing. I move swiftly unless in an iron infestation. It will take some time to discern the iron too. I suspect the high sens is making the iron a little tougher to recognize but its definitely tolerable. I may duplicate the program into the next slot and just have that sens set considerably lower. That way I can toggle back and forth to check the probable iron signals. Overall I very much like the upgrade. I got a dandy button and several others. Jo got a George III halfpenny, a Chas II farthing and an awesome shield shape leather ornamental. Looks like the half reale has been teeth tested several times during its life.

Thanks for the comments. Prob not too many more days left for us to detect this season. Farmers are hard at work and now spreading manure.
