Late night hunt of sidewalk tear out

Seen this on way to pick up my daughter dropped her off at home and went back at 10:15 EST and here is what I found before surface hardened hard digging there it was all packed in modified from previous years I suppose stone looking pieces seem to be part of a monument or something it was everywhere but has some type of metal in it
