100_4217.webpFound this Allendale point this week, I find some that are heat treated and some that are not. This one has not been heat treated. I think the points not heat treated is the early points and the heat treated ones are the later points.

Yes some of the points we find are knives and longer than the true arrow points from your area.

Very nice find Will and like you any blade with any length in my are most of the time was a knife blade.:occasion14: Happy Hunting.

Nice knife find. Has it ever been proven as to when they started using the heat treat of the making of arrowheads and artifacts? What time period is what I am asking?
 
Different groups started at different times and some did not heat treat.
