Here are some pictures of the LC Pocket Spill I found on April 19th 2008 during the DFXonly hunt in Ohio.

Myself and Don had been working a steep hillside near an old swimming hole. After about an hour i got a hit and pulled up a LC.
After scanning the hole again there was another coin still in the hole, I popped out another LC. After filling the hole I moved about a foot away and got another signal, Dug down about 5 inches and 2 more LC's were down in the hole.. 2 holes 4 coins..
All the LC's had a date of 1830..

Dave,
That is very cool. Those are better than a dateless SLQ? True?

Those LC's are in great condition. Very Sweet.

Bob

You know Bob.. Ever since you pulled a SLQ from the "Mine" I have been looking for one.
In fact a SLQ has been the only coin on my list for the last 2 years

Wow, that is neat.
You have to appreciate living in a part of the states that has some history to it,
so you can find the older coins.

Here in California, there just aren't that many old coins around,
it being a 'younger' territory.
Oh, well - - I'll have to settle for the fact we have GOLD in these here hills!
:D

UncleVinnys,

We say the same thing here. Our friends in the States East of here, really find the older coins and Friends to the West find the Gold
When a 1800's coin turns up here it is a treat.. Now go look for that gold!!

Dan,

There was alot of great finds made at this hunt. I really wish everyone that was there would post them.
Lots of old silver was found, Relics from the camp history, and 6 LC's total made there way into the finds.
But the highlight was meeting friends and making new friends.

Thanks

Those were beauties Dave, even right after you dug them. WTG!
Looks like they cleaned up really well.

Ken

Yes they were!! I almost made a choice not to clean them.
But now that they are cleaned up..I think I made the right choice.
They all are still in pretty rough shape and flaking on the edges , The ground was not nice to these coins.

Thanks Kas....I'm sure we will see you this season sometime..

Since they are all the same date I assume that guy had either just gone to the bank or just got those in change after buying something. They were probably nearly new when lost. Way to go on the large cent pocket spill.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw all the dates.

SKD,
In the last few years, There have been quite a few LC's pulled from Ohio.
Dan, Nate, Mirage all found some last year. Not to mention the guys who don't post them. I think there are plenty more in our area
to find. Research being the key.. I think I am motivated now to get out and start looking for more.

What a great find. Congrats to you. That guy must have had large pockets. ;D
-MM-

I guess his/her pockets where not large enough... No room for silver :-\
I kept going over the same area in hopes of getting another signal.. a Half Dime would have been perfect!
There had to be enough room in the pocket for a Half Dime ;D

Thank you all for the replies...
The hunt was my first time out for the season, I had my sights set on digging silver that weekend, But even if I had nothing to show..It was a great time!

Thanks
