100+ YO Pocket Spill

There are few things better than an old pocket spill. It's a real thrill to open up a hole, and see a handful of old coins looking back at you. After the rain partially let up this morning, I was able to get out into some local woods for several hours of detecting. It was very slow going for the first couple of hours, with only a shankless tombac button and 1893 IHP to show for my efforts. I happened upon a strong "84" VDI, and thought for a second it might be another Indian cent...but it didn't sound quite right...a little too big. When I cut my plug I was pretty sure it would be some kind of junk. I was more than surprised to see multiple coins at the bottom of the plug:

After some careful extractions I ended up with an eleven coin pocket spill!

This spill included: 1920 Walking Liberty half, 1898 Barber quarter, 1897 Barber dime; 1920 Mercury dime, 1911 Liberty nickel, and six wheaties (1914 x2, 1916-S, 1917, 1918, and a no date)

Despite the fairly crappy weather, I couldn't have asked for a better day of detecting! Thanks for taking a look.
