Went out this morning for 30min..
Could not take the cold. It was 18degrs.out with the wind..
But did manage to find this eagle..
Not sure about it..Came off something, maybe flag pole..Pretty neat though...Hand carved!!! With nice white patina...Found the blow hole button the other day just didn't get a chance to post..
If anyone seen the eagle before or any ideas let me know..Thanks for looking
George

Might be a carved whitworth bullet? If it is, you Really have something very very nice there.Maybe p.m thecannonballguy. That looks like a bullet base to me too?Only thing throwing me off is it's curvature around the middle and the top, unless it might have been heated while making.Very cool whatever it is.

Thats would be really cool...
Not to sure it was carved out a bullet though??
George

It might be some kind of finial?

It that is a carved bullet it is incredible but I was thinking it maybe went on top of a small flag pole or something. That blow hole button is really cool. I've only got one in my collection and I love it. I would def ask CBG. Give him good measurements. He's the wizard lol

I think you are right, after another look It seems to large and awkward to be one.It had me for a minute there.Whitworth bullets are a really large confederate issue sniper/sharpshooter bullet that are really rare to find, in case didn't already know.HH-gl

Nice finds George, I like the flagpole idea, it was the first thing that popped into my head when you text me that this morning.
Why do I got to be a blowhole?

Seem like it just fit...lol..

Nice blowhole button, I have found many colonial buttons but never a blowhole button. That site looks like it has the potential for even more great finds.

Heck, all of Vino's sites have the potential for great finds. I am so envious of his location. The blow hole button is an excellent find.

Nice piece of lead, and also the button is a good find.
