Lead Ingot for?

Found this at a historic ( Underground RR) house from the 1860 -70's ..looks to be of lead and marked with a C at each corner ..1-5/8 x 1-5/8 & 5/8 inch thick..someone told be bullet lead ? any ideas appreciated ..Thanks
