Lead piece?

Hi all,
I have been finding different stuff lately. This piece appears to be lead. It is definitely non magnetic. It is beveled on 3 of the 4 sides. It has a line on one end and a line on one side. The line on the side and the line on the end are on the same end. I appreciate any help.

where did you find it? metal detecting? i have no idea. some type of little weight?

It was found on our local square. Our courthouse was there until the late 1890's. the veterans have held ceremonies there probably since the civil war. There are also a lot of gatherings here.
