Went back to the rough ploughed Roman Site. We are now sure we have plotted the total limits of the site & after 2 hours we gave up. It was only on the last run that I got a small Scrappy Roman Coin & a Gold Ring (Modern). We will return when its rolled flatter with the larger coils.
Tried a nearby field for an hour with only a Silver Plate dated 1900 (Hallmark London 1899).

Last picture was our final back-up field (Big Grass Field), spent 1/2 an hour & scooped 1 Scrappy.

The good times are over & its time to grit our teeth & pull a few average pieces until harvest time :'(

:)

Your range of finds are quite remarkable :o what looks like a average post to you, would be a good day for most 8) but you have been spoil this year with your finds :P I have been there, and now the real work starts for us both :help: I never find the same amount of different Items and time periods as you :dontknow: perhaps it's due to our different locations in the UK :dontknow:

But I know you will keep swinging and producing the good stuff :notworthy: I....for one, will look forward to those posts

Nice digs Cru.. that ring is modern? :dontknow:

The date letter is hard to make out, but its either 1914 or 1949 & the purity is worn off but it looks only 9ct.
