Let's make this quick pt. 3
On a quest to find a silver dime that is not a Roosevelt, I headed to an area that dates to the mid 19th-century. I really didn't expect to find anything exciting, seeing as how hard it probably had been hunted (though I didn't know for sure). I only had two hours so I got to it, getting a perfect IH signal right away in the first 5 minutes. Dug it up and got a clean (scan is bad) '88 IH with full liberty. Well, beginner's luck was the case today, as the area dried up for nearly the rest of the hunt, except for some clad. Toward the end of the hunt, I got a 80-81 signal at 3 inches and thought to myself, "Silver dime...? Three inches?" A clad dime will almost never read a solid 80-81 on the M6, and I wasn't in the mood to be digging clad dimes, so I was really hoping this was my silver merc or maybe even Barber. Well, it was a silver dime, more like two inches, but it was a '63-D Rosey. I was happy with that and left because I was sweaty and hot and had some errands to run anyway. Where are all the Barbers and mercs
Gotta mention that this is probably the 5th or 6th hunt where I've found a wheatie, IH, and a Rosey, and nothing else (in terms of keepers). Odd.
G'day, brochachos!
