Lexington SC local info. Where should I hunt ?? thanksgiving weekend

The Boys and I are headed out to Lexington SC tonight for thanksgiving with inlaws. They have never been MDing and was hoping to get a ***HINT*** for them in the area.

Oh yea, we got 2 gold pans in the mail and want to try them out also.

I live in the next county over. I don't think the gold pans are going to be of much use in this area. Sherman marched all through here and burned Columbia. If the relatives know of anyone with farmland nearby you might luck up on a campsite. If not then you might want to try nearby Lake Murray. I'm sure there are lots of swim areas and boat ramps there.I wish I could be of more help.Good luck.
