Found detecting on a Maine beach. Odd...not threaded and the diameter of a nickel. The hole is part of it. Any ideas? Thanks!

It is an old pin fire 12 gauge shotgun shell brass, circa 1890 I believe.

Cool, cool, cool! It was tough detecting at Old Orchard Beach this weekend; some quarters and pennies, but no jewelry. This makes the weekend hunts worth it!
