I would say a reduction flake they may have given a little thought to making something else and chunked. Never a wasted day when you are able to go hunt
We used to hunt a site called High Bank. It is now under rip rap. It had nothing but flakes and cooked bone. Very little secondary work at all. Beautiful flint though. The only artifacts I ever kept was the crazy worked limestone. I had never seen limestone worked before, lol. So many flakes you always had to stop and spend an hour or two just flipping flint.I will miss that spot and will have to dive to hunt it again. Keep on it one day it will throw you a nice one.
I went 1 day last week and found 2 flakes. One of them was 2.5 inches long! I sure would like to find what they finished from it. Flakes are fun to study and tells you what color to look for.
